Cheltenham Festival Day 1 Review
Espoir D’Allen Bolts Up In Champion Hurdle
It was a fast start for the Mullins team, taking the first two races of the day with Klassical Dream and Duc Des Genievres. The English fought back with three wins later in the day. Nicky henderson got off the mark with Beware The Bear, Ben Pauling taking the Amateurs Chase with Le Breuil and team Skelton steering Roksana home in the 16:10.
The day totally belonged to Gavin Cromwell however with Espoir D’Allen romping home in the Champion Hurdle. Hopefully you saw it here first and got on at 16/1 for the big race of the day.
It was definitely a day for the bookies with only one favourite winning from the seven races. There were several large distance winners, probably down to the conditions. With the forecast being for strong winds and some more rain, you will need some tough horses out there on Tuesday.
