Premier League Transfer Watch – 19th July
As always its been a busy week for the Clubs in the Premier league. Our transfer watch focuses on two clubs, who would hope to be challenging for the title this season.
In addition the rumor mill is rife with speculation and we will take a look at some of the bigger names being touted to join the Premier league.
Chelsea look to Sarri and Zola to stabilize the club
As reported in our earlier Transfer Watch we were keeping an eye on all the developments at Chelsea. It was always going to be hard for Antonio Conte to stay under the big cloud that was gathering at the club.
Ambramovich had reportedly been chasing Sarri for a while. A three year contract was finally agreed this week and he has already been busy. Chelsea fans will welcome his appointment of Gianfranco Zola as assistant manager. A legend at Chelsea from his playing days and will hopefully bridge the gap between management and players. This is something that has plagued the club by all reports over he last few seasons.
On the squad front, Sarri is joined by Jorginho from Napoli as part of a £50.4m deal. With many papers reporting that Hazard, Willian, Courtois and others may be on their way from Chelsea, this may be the first signing of many fro Sarri.
Liverpool in ‘Safe Hands’ ?
Jurgen Klopp has big ambitions for Liverpool this season and one area where he knew he needed to strengthen was between the sticks. Whether or not Karius was ‘concussed’ during the Champions League Final or not, a change was always on the cards.
Having been consistently one of the best keepers across Europe last year, Alisson will be moving to Liverpool in a £67m deal from Roma. Along with a whole host of other signings so far, Klopp will be looking to start the season with a bang.
