Gianluigi Buffon to play in the Premier League?
Could Italy’ most celebrated goalkeeper be playing football in the Premier League next season? The Juventus icon has called time on his 17-year career with the Turin giants, but has admitted he is still keen to continue playing football and is currently looking at opportunities.
Buffon’s agent Silvano Martina has stressed the player is currently considering a number of offers from around the world and hinted that several Premier League clubs have made an approach.
ESPN have reported that PSG have already made an approach, however no decision will be made by Buffon for at least a few weeks.
The 40-year-old has had a quite brilliant career in Turin keeping 300 clean sheets in his 655 matches, which also includes holding the record for the most clean sheets in a Serie A season 21, set in 2011-12 and 2015-16.
During 23-years in Italy’s top flight which began with Parma, Buffon has won the Coppa Italia on 5 occasions, 6 Supercoppa Italia, 9 Serie A Title, 1 UEFA Cup and 1 World Cup.
Buffon signed off his Juventus career in Turin by celebrating with fans following their 2-1 win over Verona.
