Rose draws level with Faldo
Justin Rose’s win at the weekend in the Fort Worth Invitational was his 9th PGA Tour victory, drawing him level with Britain’s greatest golfer Nick Faldo in terms of PGA Tour wins. However, when you have a look at both their PGA Tour stats, Rose appears to be in better shape across the Atlantic than Faldo!
Sir Nick Faldo dominated the world of golf in the late 80’s and early 90’s and was ranked as the world’s top golfer for a total of 97 weeks. His 41 professional titles included 30 European Tour victories, six Major Championships and nine PGA Tour wins.
Rose has played most of his career on the PGA Tour, although he does have 11 European Tour wins to his name. He has finished runner-up in the Masters on two occasions, third in the PGA Championship, 4th in the Open and winner of the US Open back in 2013.

While Faldo clearly has a better record in Europe and on the Major count, on American soil Rose has far superior stats.
During his illustrious career Faldo played in 306 PGA Tour events, finishing runner-up seven and third on six occasions. Faldo also managed 52 top 10 finishes, and made the cut in 229 events.
It is also important to mention that six of Faldo’s PGA Tour wins include his three Masters and three Open Championship wins. So effectively he has only one three PGA Tour titles outside the Majors.
In comparison, Rose has stood on the first tee 315 times in a PGA Tour event. He has 12 second place finishes and 10 third place finishes. He has made the cut on 254 occasions and also accumulated 84 top 10 finishes! Take away his US Open, he has 8 victories on the PGA Tour.
And then there is the prize money, which is a little unfair to bring up as the money up for grabs is significantly higher today than it was back then. So far Rose has won £34m to Faldo’s £4.5m.
As you can clearly see Rose is well and truly ahead on US soil, although well behind in terms of Major Championships. At just 38-years-of-age, Rose has plenty of time on his side to accumulate more Majors, however as it stands he is already more successful than Faldo over in the US.
